Brendan has three older brothers. Sean, born in 1960. Kevin, born in 1962. Regan, born in 1963.
When Brendan was six yeas old, he became separated from his brothers in New York's Times Square. Fascinated with the theaters and matinee crowds on Broadway. A kind-hearted cabbie returned Brendan to his family at their hotel and refused the little boy's money. A seed was planted that would later begin to sprout during a trip to London's West End where young Brendan saw his first professional theater production of the musical "Oliver". While in London he also experienced "The Mousetrap", "Jesus Christ Superstar", and "A Chorus Line".
Brendan was educated at The American School in The Hague, Netherlands, and Sacred Heart School in Seattle, Washington where he played Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore and at Upper Canada College where he worked in the school's little theater, appeared in plays and revues, and acted as stage manager and ticket seller. Later at The Actor's Conservatory of Cornish College of The Arts he starred in The Marriage of Bette and Boo by Christopher Durang and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Acting. After graduation he spent a year interning at the Intiman Theatre. He also worked with Seattle's Laughing Horse Summer Theater. He appeared in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream as well as Chekhov's Three Sisters, George Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man, The King Stag by Carlo Gozzi, and The Madwoman of Chaillot by French dramatist Jean Giraudoux.
